Abraham Maslow
Abraham Maslow was born on April 1, 1908 in New York, USA and died on June 8, 1970. His parents were Jewish refugees from Russia. He studied psychology at the University of Wisonsin-Madison. He worked as a professor at Columbia University, Brooklyn College and then at Brandeis University. Today he is considered one of the founders of humanistic psychology school.
From the management perspective is his the most interesting work Maslow’s Hierarchy (Pyramid) of Needs, which is used among others in explaining work motivation.
